Kimberly C. Cripe
Kimberly C. Cripe, President and Chief Executive Officer of CHOC Children’s, leads one of the top pediatric healthcare systems in the nation. CHOC was one of only eight children’s hospitals in the nation to be named to the Leapfrog Group’s “Top Hospitals 2007” list and was the only hospital in California to earn the Silver level CAPE (California Awards for Performance Excellence) Award from the California Council for Excellence. CHOC recently joined the elite ranks of the top 4-5 % of the nation’s hospitals that have earned Magnet recognition for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. A dedicated child advocate, Ms. Cripe was appointed, in 1999, as a member of Orange County’s Children and Families First Commission (Prop. 10). In recognition of her leadership in children’s health care, Ms. Cripe was honored with a Women in Business Award in 2000. In 2001, the Forum for Corporate Directors in Orange County awarded her as Director of the Year. Ms. Cripe is a member of The Trusteeship, an affiliate of The International Women’s Forum, and is also affiliated with the Healthcare Association of Southern California, California Children’s Hospital Association, National Association of Children’s Hospitals and the Child Health Corporation of America.
