Child Life and Family Services Milestones
Pet Therapy Program instituted in 1994.
Patient Connect established in 2004, allowing patients and families to communicate via high-end telemedicine technology with Orange County schools, home, and CHOC Children’s. Patient Connect incorporates a growing laptop-lending program.
Radio Lollipop, our in-hospital radio station, is the only studio of its kind on the West Coast. CHOC Children’s was the first to examine the affects of Radio Lollipop on children pre-and-post participation from a pain score, sedation score, and an anxiety score. Remarkably, there is a statistically significant reduction in all.
Music Therapy Program launched in 2008 with $1 million endowment from Music for a Cure.
