CHOC’s Ranking Across Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties

Local and National Recognition
Magnet Recognition
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) has awarded the prestigious Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence to CHOC Children’s. We have now joined an elite group of hospitals nationwide—including only 24 children’s hospitals—that have achieved this distinction.
CAPE Award
CHOC Children’s has been recognized with the Bronze Level CAPE Award from the California Council for Excellence (CCE). We are the only children’s hospital in California to ever earn this distinction and the only Orange County-based organization of any kind honored in 2008.
The CAPE Program, administered by the CCE, emulates the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and is the highest recognition in the state for performance excellence.
Leapfrog 2007 Top Hospitals
CHOC Children’s is one of 41 hospitals—and one of only eight children’s hospitals across the nation—named to the “Leapfrog 2007 Top Hospitals” list, based on results from the Leapfrog Hospital Quality and Safety Survey. The survey, a national rating system, is the most complete and current assessment of hospital quality and safety in the country.
#1 Best Place to Work
CHOC Children’s and CHOC Children’s at Mission were voted the #1 “Best Place to Work” and the #1 “Best Place to Volunteer” in The Orange County Register’s Best of Orange County readers’ poll.
